APC Hails Shettima at 60, Salutes Service to Nigeria

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has celebrated Vice President Kashim Shettima as he clocks 60, praising his contributions to national development and describing him as a key pillar of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.

The party, in a statement issued on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said Shettima’s 60th birthday was a significant milestone in a life marked by public service, intellectual depth and commitment to Nigeria’s progress.

The APC joined Nigerians, party members and well-wishers across the world in congratulating the Vice President, while reflecting on his years in public office and his contributions to the development of Borno State and the country at large.

The party recalled Shettima’s tenure as Governor of Borno State, particularly the difficult years when the state was confronted by serious security challenges.

According to the APC, Shettima demonstrated courage and resilience during the period while pursuing programmes in infrastructure, education and human capital development.

It said the initiatives undertaken under his administration contributed to the recovery and rebuilding efforts in Borno and the wider North-East geopolitical zone.

The party also highlighted Shettima’s stint as Senator representing Borno Central, noting that his legislative contributions reflected his interest in socio-economic development and national unity.

Since becoming Vice President, the APC said Shettima had continued to play a significant role in the implementation of the Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

His leadership of the National Economic Council (NEC), the party noted, had placed him at the centre of several economic initiatives aimed at addressing the country’s development challenges.

The APC said the Vice President’s involvement in economic policy and coordination had contributed to efforts towards sustainable development, industrial growth and improved prosperity.

“His leadership of the National Economic Council (NEC) and active driving of crucial economic initiatives are steering our nation toward sustainable development, industrial renaissance, and prosperity for all citizens,” the party said.

The ruling party also commended Shettima’s loyalty to the administration, describing his leadership style as characterised by humility, strategic thinking and an ability to build bridges.

It described him as an “invaluable pillar” of the APC-led Federal Government and a source of inspiration to younger leaders across Africa.

The APC further praised the Vice President’s intellectual capacity and commitment to public service, saying his career had reflected a consistent concern for the welfare and development of Nigerians.

As Shettima marks his 60th birthday, the party’s National Working Committee, leaders, stakeholders and members prayed for his continued good health, wisdom and strength.

The APC also prayed that he would be granted greater capacity to continue serving the country in his capacity as Vice President.

The party concluded its message with a birthday greeting to the Vice President, saying, “Happy 60th birthday, Mr. Vice President!”
