Late Benue Head of Service, Agbogbo Ode

The Benue State Government has announced the death of its Head of Service, Agbogbo Ode, who passed away on Saturday after a brief illness.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Serumun Deborah, who described the late civil servant as a seasoned technocrat whose contributions left a lasting imprint on the state’s public service.

According to the statement, Ode’s death represents a significant loss to Benue State, particularly to the civil service where he was widely respected for his professionalism and commitment to duty.

He was noted for his role in strengthening administrative processes and promoting efficiency within the system, earning a reputation for credibility and discipline throughout his career.

The government said his tenure as Head of Service was marked by diligence and a strong dedication to institutional development, adding that he remained focused on improving standards in the state’s workforce until his passing.

“His sudden demise is a painful loss to the government and people of Benue State,” the statement read, noting that his legacy would continue to inspire those within the public service.

The state government extended condolences to his family, colleagues, and associates, as well as the entire civil service community, while offering prayers for the repose of his soul.
