A United States-based network of Nigerians, the Future Platform USA, has announced plans to host a large-scale rally in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Atlanta, Georgia, as part of efforts to mobilise diaspora support for Nigeria’s development agenda.
The event, scheduled for August 1, 2026, is expected to draw participants from across the United States and beyond, bringing together members of the Nigerian community, policy advocates, and stakeholders for what organisers describe as a show of solidarity with the current administration.
In a statement released by the group, the rally is positioned as a platform to highlight the achievements of the Tinubu administration while reinforcing support for its policies on economic reform, governance, and national development.
According to the organisers, the initiative reflects a growing interest among Nigerians in the diaspora to remain actively involved in the country’s political and developmental trajectory.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Convener, Austin Dafe, and the Publicity Secretary, Olakunle Olaosebikan, said the gathering would serve as a unifying forum for Nigerians abroad.
They noted that the rally is designed to bring together citizens under a shared vision of progress and constructive engagement with national leadership.
“The initiative reflects the commitment of Nigerians abroad to actively support policies and leadership efforts aimed at repositioning Nigeria on the global stage,” the convener said.
Organisers added that the event would feature goodwill messages and participation from a broad spectrum of the Nigerian diaspora, including professionals, community leaders, and supporters of government policies.
They also indicated that prominent political figures and stakeholders from Nigeria are expected to attend, underscoring the significance of the gathering.
The rally, they said, is intended to foster unity among Nigerians overseas while encouraging sustained contributions to national growth and international collaboration.
“This Mega Rally represents a significant moment for Nigerians in the diaspora to collectively acknowledge leadership, reinforce national unity, and contribute to the ongoing narrative of Nigeria’s growth and transformation,” the statement added.
An open invitation has been extended to Nigerians in the diaspora and other interested participants to attend the event, which organisers say will mark a renewed phase of engagement between citizens abroad and the country’s leadership.
