The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) and 20 other federal agencies are set to integrate into the Federal Government’s Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform (RevOP) and the Federal Treasury e-Receipt system (FTe-R), in a move aimed at strengthening transparency and accountability in public finance management.
The development was confirmed after a meeting in Abuja on Tuesday between the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, and chief executives of the affected agencies.
According to officials, the digital platforms are designed to provide real-time tracking of government revenue inflows and expenditures, close leakages, and improve financial reporting across Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
The initiative, approved by the Federal Executive Council, forms part of ongoing fiscal reforms under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with a strong focus on enhancing due process and curbing financial irregularities in government operations.
A total of 31 MDAs are already active on the platform, while the latest group of 21 agencies is expected to complete integration in the next phase of rollout.
Speaking during the engagement, the Minister, through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Muhammed Sanusi, urged the agencies to key into the system without delay, noting that it was central to achieving full transparency in federal revenue administration.
He said the government was determined to ensure that all revenue-generating agencies operate within a unified digital framework that captures and monitors financial transactions in real time.
“We are working towards a comprehensive system that records all government revenues and expenditures transparently and in real time,” he said, adding that wider participation would strengthen fiscal discipline and accountability across the public sector.
NEPZA’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi, said the agency was fully aligned with the reform agenda and would comply with the integration process.
He noted that NEPZA’s existing digital financial structure places it in a strong position to adopt the platform seamlessly.
“We are encouraged by this initiative and take it as a responsibility to align with the RevOP system. It is important that we support the Federal Government’s drive to strengthen financial monitoring and accountability,” Ogunyemi said.
He added that the initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to improving revenue management and ensuring that public funds are properly tracked and accounted for.
Officials say the rollout of RevOP and the FTe-R system is expected to significantly reduce revenue leakages, improve data accuracy in fiscal reporting, and enhance overall confidence in government financial operations.
With more agencies expected to come on board, the Federal Government says it is targeting full integration across all MDAs before the end of the fiscal cycle.
The reform is also expected to support broader economic management efforts by providing policymakers with timely and reliable financial data for decision-making.
