The Honeywell Group has commended the Ministry of Interior for its ongoing reform initiatives and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nigeria’s development agenda through stronger collaboration with government institutions.

The endorsement came during a courtesy visit by the company’s Senior Adviser, Mrs. Oduwaye Nsidi-Sakiri, and Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Tomi Ayo-Tugbo, to the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in Abuja on Thursday.

During the meeting, Tunji-Ojo reiterated the Federal Government’s readiness to partner with responsible corporate organisations to drive economic growth, improve service delivery and advance national development objectives.

The minister expressed appreciation to the Honeywell Group for recognizing the ministry’s reform efforts and acknowledged the company’s contributions to the Nigerian economy over the years.

He noted that the private sector remains a critical partner in promoting economic growth, job creation and innovation, stressing that the government is committed to fostering partnerships that will deliver tangible benefits to citizens.

According to him, reforms introduced across the ministry and its agencies are aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening national security and restoring public confidence in government institutions.

“Our goal is to build institutions that work efficiently for the people. We are committed to creating systems that are transparent, technology-driven, and capable of delivering services in a manner that reflects the aspirations of a modern Nigeria,” Tunji-Ojo said.

The minister added that sustainable national development requires strong cooperation between the public and private sectors.

“The government cannot achieve sustainable development alone. Strong partnerships between the public and private sectors are essential to building a prosperous nation. We value organizations such as Honeywell Group that have consistently invested in Nigeria and contributed to the country’s growth over several decades,” he stated.

Earlier, Nsidi-Sakiri praised the ministry for the progress recorded under its reform programme, describing the achievements as evidence of effective leadership and commitment by ministry personnel.

“We commend the remarkable progress that has been made. These achievements are a reflection not only of leadership but also of the dedication and hard work of the entire team within the Ministry,” she said.

She explained that the visit was consistent with Honeywell Group’s long-standing tradition of maintaining constructive relationships with government institutions, regulatory bodies and other public-sector stakeholders.

Nsidi-Sakiri also expressed the company’s willingness to explore opportunities for collaboration in support of government initiatives and broader national development goals.

Also speaking, Ayo-Tugbo commended the ministry for reforms that she said were delivering measurable improvements in the lives of Nigerians. She reaffirmed Honeywell Group’s commitment to contributing to the country’s growth and prosperity through continued engagement with relevant stakeholders.

The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming the importance of public-private sector collaboration in accelerating national development and improving service delivery for citizens.
