NTAC DG Awarded Honorary Fellowship, Commended for Exceptional Competence

The Director-General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps , Rt. Hon.Yusuf Buba Yakub, has been conferred with the titles of Doctoral and Honorary Fellowship of the Emergency Crisis and Risk Management Institute.

This was disclosed on Thursday in a statement signed by the Head, Information/Public Relations, NTAC, Ojo Adetoun Olubunmi.

According to the statement, these recognitions are  testaments to his exceptional leadership, competence, and professionalism in advancing NTAC’s mission.

“Under Dr. Yakub’s guidance, NTAC has strengthened its initiatives in providing technical aid and humanitarian support to African, Pacific and Caribbean countries. The organization’s deployment of over 10,000 volunteers to over 40 countries since its establishment in 1987 is a notable achievement,” the statement noted.

The Emergency Crisis and Risk Management Institute, which focuses on building capacity, conducting research, and promoting professional development in emergency management, commended Dr. Yakub’s outstanding character, leadership and commitment to serving the greater good.

During a visit to the NTAC Complex, Director-General of the Institute, Dr. Chuks Akawo, presented the award and expressed appreciation for NTAC’s participation in a recent conference.

He highlighted the Institute’s postgraduate and PhD programmes and proposed collaboration between both institutions.

The visiting delegation  led by Dr. Chuks Akawo, included Dieudonné Nikiema, Manager, ECOWAS Peace Fund, Reverend Stephen A.O. Paul,a Fellow of the Institute.

Also in attendance  were members of NTAC Management,which included Amb.Yakubu Abdullahi Ahmed, Director of Administration;

Amb.Zakari Usman, Director of Programmes as well as Mrs Meimunat Haruna- Mustapha, Deputy Director, Head of Accounts;Alhaji Adekola Lawal, Assistant Director, Head of Internal Audit,and Mr.Debo Fehintola ,among others.

Dr. Yakub thanked the visiting team for the recognition and reaffirmed NTAC’s openness to partnership with the Emergency Crisis and Risk Management Institute and other like-minded institutions.

He emphasized NTAC’s core mandate of deploying Nigerian professionals to countries with gaps in skills and assured the visiting delegation that NTAC’s doors would always remain open for collaboration in areas promoting peace, safety and sustainable development.

It must be informed that these Awards not only honour Dr. Yakub’s individual achievements but also highlight Mr. President’s achievements through NTAC’s vital role in contributing to national progress and resilience.

The Institute and NTAC look forward to a fruitful and long-term partnership.
