APC Adds 926 Names to Tinubu Campaign Council, Lists Buratai, Metuh, Ize-Iyamu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expanded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign council with 926 additional names, including former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai; former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh; and former Edo State governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

The supplementary list was attached to a statement signed on Wednesday by APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

It covers various directorates, sectoral groups, mobilisation structures and operational units within the campaign council.

Buratai was listed as a member of the Directorate of Security and Intelligence, while former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello was named Deputy Director I of the Directorate of Contact and Mobilisation.

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, was appointed Director of the Directorate of Air Transport Mobilisation.

In its announcement, the APC said the supplementary appointments were intended to broaden the composition of the Presidential Campaign Council and improve coordination among its various components.

The new entries cover leadership positions and membership across several directorates and operational units.

The development marks the third major stage in the evolution of the Tinubu/APC campaign council.

The initial membership was unveiled in August 2026, with Tinubu as chairman, Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, as vice chairmen.

Former Zamfara State Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, was named Director-General, while Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, was appointed secretary.

The party subsequently released a revised list in October, widening the council’s political reach through what it described as a “rainbow coalition” approach.

The revised structure brought prominent figures outside the traditional APC fold into the campaign arrangement, including Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.

Wike was named campaign coordinator for Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, while Adeleke and Soludo were assigned coordination roles in Osun and Anambra states, respectively.

The council was formally inaugurated on October 14, 2026, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Following the inauguration, the campaign structure was further expanded through the creation and enlargement of specialised directorates covering election planning and monitoring, infrastructure mobilisation, health, civil society, new media, extractive industries, entertainment, security and intelligence, artisans, labour relations and faith-based mobilisation, among other areas.

The latest supplementary list takes the expansion further, with 926 listed positions spread across the council’s directorates and operational structures.

Other units include Manufacturing and MSME Sector Mobilisation, Youth Mobilisation, General Logistics and Operations, alongside several sector-specific directorates.

The Directorate of Security and Intelligence has 25 listed members, including Buratai, while the Directorate of Contact and Mobilisation has 46 positions, with Bello serving as Deputy Director I.

The Directorate of Air Transport Mobilisation also has a broad membership under Keyamo’s leadership.

The expanded structure reflects the APC’s effort to combine political mobilisation with sectoral, professional and operational networks ahead of the 2027 election.

The party said the appointments were part of its preparations to strengthen coordination among the different components of the campaign council as the general election approaches.
