Gombe Assembly Commences Screening of 17 Commissioner Nominees. 

 

The Gombe State House of Assembly is set to commence the screening process for the 17 commissioner nominees put forward by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa five weeks ago.

 

It has been reported that the lawmakers have not yet screened the commissioner-nominees, even after 38 days since the governor sent their names to the assembly. 

 

The Assembly’s Director of Information and Reportorial, Abubakar Mohammed Umar, confirmed yesterday that the lawmakers had returned from their recess and would commence screening the nominees today. 

 

He made it known  that the nominees would be screened in two batches – today and tomorrow.

 

According to the screening schedule, the nominees to be screened today are Mijinyawa Ardo Tilde from Funakaye, Asma’u Iguanas from Shongom, Lt. Col. Abdullahi Bello (rtd) from Balanga, Dr. Barnabas Malle from Kaltungo, and Adamu Inuwa Pantami from Gombe.

 

Others are: Barrister Zubairu Mohammed Umar (Funakaye), Dr Abdullahi Bappah Garkuwa (Gombe),Dr Aishatu Umar Maigari and Abdulkadir Mohammed Waziri (Akko LGA). 

 

The next  batch to be screened tomorrow are: Dr Habu Dahiru (Yamaltu/Deba), Dr Usman Maijama’a Kallamu (Kwami), Mohammed Shettima Gadam (Kwami), Muhammad Gambo Magaji (Dukku).

 

Others are; Alhaji Nasiru Mohammed Aliyu (Yamaltu/Deba), Mohammed Saidu Fawu (Billiri), Salihu Baba Alkali (Nafada) and Sanusi Ahmed Maidala (Akko).
