Emulate Governor Seyi Makinde’s style of governance-VAN to leaders.

The national president of the Victory Advocates of Nigeria, prince Seyi Ajibola has urged all the leaders in positions of authority in the country to emulate the Governor of Oyo state, Engineer Seyi Makinde in his style of governance.

This call was made today by the VAN leadership in the south west while paying a congratulatory visit to the commissioner for youth and sports development in Oyo state, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke Adefemi in her office at the secretariat.

Ajibola was full of praises for the Governor over what he referred to as unprecedented in the political history of Nigeria.

“I want to call on our leaders in Nigeria to emulate Governor Seyi Makinde who has appointed many youths in his cabinet. One of them of this is the Honourable Commissioner for youth and sports development who happens to be a member of the VAN group”.

“This is a rear opportunity in our lifetime. Rather than standing for the youth, we need to stand with the youth. We don’t need political movement that will cage us ,we need to build our environment and policies for our collective future as youths.”

Ajibola stated further ” Old age and treachery will always beat youthful exuberant. We are the hope of the future and the foundation of every state is the functional education of youth”.

In her response, the twenty eight year old commissioner for youth and sports development, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke Adefemi appreciated the group, particularly the president for the courtesy cum congratulatory visit and promised to collaborate with the youths in the state.

Adefemi thanked the Governor for the opportunity given to her and other youths to serve in his cabinet despite still resistance from certain quarters tand promised to do her best without letting them down.

She asserted “Youth development and growth are the major assignments and God willing, my ministry will do its best to place Oyo state in a greater position”.

In a similar development, the youth leader of Oyo state, Michael Ogunsina while hosting the group implored the youths in the country to prepare to take over the system so as to build strong capacity that will lead to greatness.

Among the VAN team that visited Adefemi were the south west Special Adviser to the president, Dean Adegbite, Lagos and Ogun states coordinators, Comrade Adegbola Daniel, Hon Yemisi Adegoke respectively and representative of Oyo state team Dorcas Akintola. The team used the opportunity to present Hon Commissioner a gift.
