VAN berates Akeredolu, says Ondo State in shambles under his watch.

The Ondo State Coordinator of Victory Advocates of Nigeria (VAN), Great Babalola Gbonegun has described the Governor Akeredolu-led administration as the worst ever in the history of the state.

In a statement signed by the National Coordinator of the group, Prince Seyi Ajibola on Friday, the group drew the attention of Nigerians to “manipulations, breaking of rule of law and lack of accountability on the side of APC administration in the state.”

It added that the current state of health of Governor Akeredolu has brought about a great setback to the Sunshine State and cried out to stakeholders to savage the situation. 

“Just as we believe health is very important, we also understand the responsibility of subordinates in the administrative settings and the need for delegation of authority. 

“Ondo state has already taken the back seat in national activities, state development and growth due to incapacity and ill health of the executive governor of the state which has adversely affected the management of state affairs.  

“The APC-led administration has plunged Ondo State into a state of disorganization and absolute disarray. It is lamentable and nasty that a state highly placed and glorified has become a show of shame by way of the poor leadership of APC and the Governor Akeredolu administration.” The group stated.

The VAN National President therefore  condemned what he described as “the bad precedent Gov Akeredolu is trying to set for the people of the sunshine state.”

“For a while now, the Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Odunayo Oluwarotimi Akeredolu embarked on extended absence from duty for about half a year without proper transfer of power democratically to the deputy as outlined in the constitution, ostensibly towing the path of illegal and unethical political practices of his party, the APC. 

“As a youth organization we call for quick and urgent action. We dare say that if Akeredolu is completely down and incapacitated to effectively and efficiently discharge his responsibilities as the state chief executive and security officer, he should resign.

“As a result of lack of meaningful direction and indifference to the plight of the people and criminal concentration on self pleasure, and well-being without any regard for the plight of others, the administration has become so insensitive, thereby making Ondo State insecure and indigent.

“The APC-led administration, rather than focusing on the well-being of the people of the state, fulfilling promises made during campaigns, and enhancing development across the 18 local governments; and pay civil servants duly, now go about doing the needless. The unessential has resultantly become the priority of the inept administration.

“At this point, the people’s feelings for the deceitful government have become drained and now completely exhausted. Apparently, APC has lost its grip on state affairs and has consequently derailed.

“Having witnessed a horrible administration under APC, the worst in the history of the state, It is now clear to the people that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is the way, the truth and the life. Come 2024, PDP shall be victorious in ONDO STATE!”
