Valentine’s Day: PDP Stalwart, Funmi Ogun calls for love amongst party faithfuls

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, a former Commissioner for works and Transportation and one of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), bigwigs in Ekiti, Hon. Mrs Ogun Funmilayo Theresa popularly known As OFT has stated the reason why love should be extended to each other.

In a statement signed by her Special Adviser on Media, Dimeji Olayinka on Wednesday, she used the occasion to spread a message of camaraderie and solidarity among party faithfuls in the state.

Funmi Ogun emphasized the importance of setting aside differences and embracing the common thread that binds people together. 

She noted that amidst the diversity of opinions and backgrounds, love and unity are the bedrocks upon which successful movements are built.

Drawing parallels between romantic love and the love for one’s political affiliation, Ogun articulated that just as individuals in a relationship strive to understand and support each other, “party members must extend the same courtesy to their fellow members By nurturing a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity,” she underscored how collective strength can overcome any challenge that lies ahead.

She stressed the need for proactive engagement and dialogue within the party ranks “by fostering open communication channels and promoting a culture of constructive feedback, believing that we can harness the diverse talents and perspectives within our party to drive meaningful progress.” She noted

As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, Funmi Ogun’s message serves as a poignant reminder that love and unity are not merely sentimental gestures, but powerful catalysts for positive change. 

She added that “By embodying these principles in our interactions and actions, we can fortify the bonds of our political family and propel our collective aspirations to new heights.”
