Ondo guber primary: APC fixes new date, constitutes committee
Joel Oladele, Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced April 20 as a new date for the Ondo State governorship primary election, just as it constituted a committee for the smooth running of the process.
Recall that the ruling party had earlier fixed April 25 for the exercise according to the timetable released last week.
However, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Barr. Felix Morka on Tuesday disclosed the new date and changes in the entire timetable.
According to him, sales of forms earlier scheduled between April 3 and April 10 is now from Wednesday March 27 to the 3rd of April.
Also, the screening of aspirants scheduled for April 19 and 20 is now to be held between 11th and 12th of the month while delegates congress is now from April 15 as against the later date of April 22 earlier announced.
Meanwhile, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has named its Deputy National Chairman, Hon. Emma Eneukwu as head of the committee for the conduct of the exercise.
Other members of the Committee are: Festus Fuanter, Victor Giadom, Prof. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, Sulaiman Argungu, Dr Mary Alile Idele, Durotolu Oyebode Bankole, Nze Chidi Duru and Felix Morka.
“By a Resolution adopted at its 144th Meeting held on the 6th of March, 2024, the National Working Committee of our great Party constituted a Governorship Primary Election Committee of its members for the smooth running of election processes in Ondo State,” the statement reads.
National Periscope gathered that at least 25 individuals, including the incumbent governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, have indicated their interest in participating in the April 2024 governorship primaries of APC.
Whoever emerges as the APC flagbearer will be contesting with the candidates of other political parties in the upcoming governorship election scheduled for November 2024, where the next landlord of Alagbaka government house will be determined.
