DICAN lauds Tinubu’s foreign policies

Joel Oladele, Abuja

The Diplomatic Correspondents’ Association of Nigeria, DICAN, has commended the leadership style of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu since his assumption of the Chairmanship position of the Authority of Heads of States of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS.

In a statement signed by DICAN Chairman, Comrade Idehai Frederick and made available to newsmen, he noted that President Tinubu brought his vast experience to bear by consolidating the gains as well as raising the bar on regional integration, entrenchment of democratic values, good governance stability and peace.

Comrade Idehai who appreciated the Nigerian President for the fatherly role he is playing towards unifying the regional bloc in tandem with the dreams of its founding fathers urged him to adopt every diplomatic means possible in persuading Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger to returned to ECOWAS after their threat to abandon the regional body for a new group, Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

DICAN assured the President of “its readiness to support in propagating through patriotic and quality reporting of his administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda’s reforms inline with the nation’s foreign policy direction anchored on democracy, developments, demography and diaspora (4D).”

Diplomatic Correspondents’ Association of Nigeria (DICAN) is an umbrella body of over fifty (50) Correspondents and Editors from the Electronic, Print, New Media (Online) and Wire Services officially assigned by their Media Organisations to report the diplomatic beat.
