Tolu Bankole Congratulates Barr. Gufwan on His Appointment

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for Persons with Disabilities, Aare Hon. Tolu Bankole, has congratulated Barrister Ayuba Burki Gufwan, on his recent appointment as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a statement on Thursday, Bankole said the  feat is a testament to Barrister Gufwan’s unwavering dedication and outstanding contributions to the disability community.

Gufwan, a renowned advocate for the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities, brings extensive experience as the Executive Director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre in Jos. He holds an LLB degree and has a track record of leadership in promoting the rights of persons with disabilities.

According to the APC Chieftain, the appointment is a significant step forward for the Commission, which is expected to drive further advancements in the rights and opportunities for persons with disabilities across the nation.

“His leadership has been instrumental in advocating for the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities, and his appointment promises continued progress in this vital area.

“This appointment is not only a recognition of Barrister Gufwan’s personal and professional accomplishments but also a significant step forward for the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities. His leadership is expected to drive further advancements in the rights and opportunities for persons with disabilities across the nation,” Bankole said.

He therefore lauded Tinubu’s support for the PWDs and for the appointment.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his ongoing interventions and support for persons with disabilities. His commitment to inclusivity and empowerment has been evident through various initiatives, and this appointment reflects his dedication to ensuring that the needs and rights of persons with disabilities are prioritized,” he noted.

Bankole also expressed his willingness to collaborate with Gufwan to ensure that the rights and needs of persons with disabilities are effectively addressed. 

“We are confident that his tenure will bring significant positive changes to the Commission and the community it serves. 

“Once again, congratulations to Barrister Ayuba Burki Gufwan on this prestigious appointment. We wish him success as he embarks on this important national service,” he concluded.
