Mudashiru Obasa.

The Ikeja High Court on Friday, ordered all the lawmakers of the Lagos State House of Assembly to be joined as parties in the suit filed by the embattled Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.

The court presided over by Justice Yetunde Pinheiro also adjourned the hearing on all pending applications in the matter until March 7, 2025.

About 35 lawmakers loyal to the new Speaker Mojisola Meranda had appeared at the court for the hearing on the matter.

In the suit, Obasa had challenged his removal which occurred following an agreement by his colleagues on January 13, while he was away in the United States of America.

In the application filed by his counsel, Afolabi Fashanu, the embattled lawmaker informed the court that he was illegally removed by his colleagues.

Obasa’s suit had the Lagos State House of Assembly and Meranda as defendants leading to the judge ordering the joining of all members of the House in the application.

At today’s proceeding, members of the assembly loyal to Meranda, have filed application seeking to be joined as defendants in the suit.
