INEC Warns Public Against Fake Recruitment Portal

JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has raised the alarm over a fake advertorial circulating on social media, falsely claiming that the Commission is recruiting new staff.

In a statement yesterday, INEC described the advert as the handiwork of criminal elements seeking to defraud unsuspecting Nigerians.

“Our attention has been drawn to a fake advertorial currently circulating on social media, giving the impression that INEC is recruiting for various positions,” the Commission said.

It further revealed that the impostors behind the scam also directed applicants to a fraudulent website, www.inecrecruitment.com, urging the public to be wary.

“The Commission does not have any such portal,” INEC clarified, warning Nigerians not to fall for the trap.

Reiterating its position, the Commission stressed: “INEC is not recruiting. Do not fall victim to the antics of criminal elements.”

The electoral umpire urged the public to disregard the bogus advert and rely only on official INEC platforms for authentic information.
