FG Commends JRB Construction for Speed, Quality on Abuja–Keffi Road Project

JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

The Federal Government has applauded JRB Construction Company Limited for what it described as exceptional performance on the ongoing Abuja–Keffi dual carriageway emergency reconstruction project.

The Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, gave the commendation during an inspection visit, expressing satisfaction with both the pace and quality of work delivered since the company was awarded the contract in October 2025.

According to Umahi, JRB Construction had demonstrated technical excellence comparable to leading international firms.

“JRB’s work is top-notch. You won’t see any difference between JRB and China Harbour, and their speed is unmatched,” he said, adding that the pace of the indigenous firm had even compelled China Harbour Engineering Company to accelerate its own segment of the project.

He also praised the company for what he described as its patriotism and commitment to national development.

“This is the kind of people that will grow this country. Be assured that Mr President is aware of what you are doing. And you are going to be paid to the last kobo,” the minister assured.

The Abuja–Keffi dual carriageway is a strategic transport link expected to ease travel pressure, enhance road safety, and reduce congestion for thousands of commuters daily. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of March 2026.

JRB Construction Company Limited, regarded as one of Nigeria’s leading indigenous contractors, has been widely credited for its consistent project delivery and rising footprint in national infrastructure development. Its performance on the Abuja–Keffi corridor, according to officials, reinforces the company’s reputation and strengthens the government’s confidence in indigenous capacity.

The Minister encouraged other local construction companies to emulate JRB’s work ethic and quality delivery.

“We want to see more indigenous companies like JRB Construction Company Limited, which have demonstrated exceptional performance and patriotism. We will continue to support and empower companies that have the capacity to deliver high-standard projects and contribute to national growth,” he said.

The Federal Government reiterated its commitment to promoting indigenous firms, stressing that empowering local contractors remains central to boosting employment, improving technical capacity, and driving Nigeria’s long-term infrastructure development.
