Egberipapa Hosts MC Oluomo, Pledges Support for Tinubu, Fubara Re-elections
JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

A Niger Delta activist and political leader, High Chief Ambassador Sobomabo Jackrich, popularly known as Egberipapa, has pledged full grassroots support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Egberipapa made the declaration on Thursday night when he hosted the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, and other national leaders of the union at his residence in Usokun community, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The visit, described as a courtesy call, was aimed at strengthening cooperation among political stakeholders and consolidating grassroots mobilisation in support of the Tinubu administration and the Rivers State government.
Addressing the gathering, Egberipapa said he and his extensive support base across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State and beyond were firmly committed to President Tinubu’s second-term bid in 2027.
He noted that the president’s leadership style and outreach, particularly among young people, had inspired renewed confidence at the grassroots.
He also drew attention to the role played by the President’s son, Seyi Tinubu, whom he described as approachable and deeply connected to grassroots communities.
“This is the first time we have seen the son of a president so genuinely close and accessible to the grassroots,” Egberipapa said.
“His readiness to engage directly with young people has strengthened confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
The Niger Delta activist said he was prepared to deepen collaboration with national leaders and political structures to ensure coordinated grassroots engagement across Rivers State and the wider Niger Delta region.
According to him, such synergy is essential for sustaining political stability and inclusive participation.
Egberipapa also commended President Tinubu for what he described as his consistent and fatherly support for Governor Fubara during difficult moments in the state’s recent political history.
He credited the president’s interventions with helping to stabilise the political environment and prevent further escalation of tensions.
Reaffirming his relationship with the Rivers State governor, Egberipapa pledged to continue working closely with Fubara to mobilise support for the president in the state.
“We will continue to work together to deliver Rivers State, in block, for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he said.
Responding, MC Oluomo thanked Egberipapa for the warm reception and for his support for the Tinubu administration. He assured his host that the issues raised during the meeting would be conveyed to the president and pledged a more inclusive and harmonious working relationship going forward.
The visit by the NURTW president, a prominent political figure and long-time ally of President Tinubu, is seen as part of broader efforts to align transport unions, regional influencers and national political structures ahead of the next general elections.
