APC Pegs National Chairman Form at N10m, Releases 2026 Congress Timetable

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has fixed the cost of its National Chairman nomination form at ₦10 million as it officially released the adjusted timetable for its 2026 nationwide congresses and national convention.

The schedule, issued by the party’s National Secretariat, outlines activities for ward, local government, state, zonal congresses and the national convention, in line with provisions of the APC Constitution.

According to the timetable, the party’s nationwide membership e-registration exercise will run from Saturday, January 31 to Sunday, February 8, 2026. This will be followed by ward and local government congresses, leading up to the national convention scheduled for March 27–28, 2026.

The APC also published the approved fees for the purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for party offices at all levels.

For national positions, aspirants for the office of National Chairman are to pay ₦10 million for the nomination form, in addition to ₦100,000 for the expression of interest.

Those seeking the offices of Deputy National Chairman (North and South) and National Secretary will pay ₦7.5 million each, while other national offices attract a nomination fee of ₦5 million. National Executive Committee (NEC) members will pay ₦250,000.

At the state level, the nomination form for State Chairman is pegged at ₦1 million, while aspirants for State Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer will pay ₦500,000. Other state offices also attract ₦500,000.

For zonal offices, aspirants are to pay ₦200,000 for nomination forms, while expression of interest is ₦100,000.

At the local government level, the nomination form for Local Government Chairman is fixed at ₦100,000, with other positions attracting ₦50,000. Ward Chairman nomination forms cost ₦20,000, while Ward Secretary, Treasurer, Vice Chairman and other offices range between ₦15,000 and ₦20,000.

The party stated that female aspirants, youths and persons with disabilities are required to pay only the expression of interest fee and 50 per cent of the prescribed nomination fees for each position.

It was also disclosed that all forms will be filled online, and access will only be granted after verification of payment and validation by the National Secretariat. Payments are to be made directly into designated APC bank accounts.

The timetable further shows that ward congresses will hold on February 18, 2026, while local government congresses are slated for February 21. State congresses will take place on March 3, followed by zonal congresses on March 25 across the six geopolitical zones.

However, the party noted that Ekiti, Osun, Rivers States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are excluded from ward, local government and state congresses, but will participate in the election of three delegates each to the national convention.

The schedule was signed by the APC National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, who assured party members of a transparent and orderly process leading to the 2026 national convention.
