Osimhen Returns to Training Ahead of Galatasaray’s UCL Showdown with Juventus

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen

There was a major boost for Galatasaray S.K. on Monday as Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen resumed full training ahead of their UEFA Champions League knockout phase playoff second-leg clash against Juventus F.C. in Turin.

Osimhen took part in the team’s evening training session at the Kemerburgaz Metin Oktay Facilities after missing the club’s recent Turkish Süper Lig fixture.

The forward was absent from the squad that suffered a 2-0 defeat to Konyaspor Kulübü, with the club citing discomfort in his right knee as the reason for his omission. Galatasaray described the decision as a precautionary measure to safeguard his fitness ahead of the crucial European tie.

However, the 25-year-old trained fully with his teammates on Monday and showed no visible signs of discomfort, raising hopes that he will be fit for the return leg in Italy.

Tactical drills dominated the session as the Turkish champions intensified preparations for the decisive encounter.

Galatasaray head into the match with a commanding 5-2 advantage from the first leg in Istanbul, where Osimhen played a key attacking role in the team’s dominant display.

The comfortable aggregate lead puts the Turkish side in a strong position as they aim to seal qualification to the next stage of Europe’s premier club competition.

With his return to training, Osimhen is expected to play a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s tactical plans as they seek to finish the job against the Italian giants in Turin.
