Remi Tinubu to Preach at Lambeth Palace During UK State Visit

Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, is set to preach at Lambeth Palace on Thursday as part of activities marking President Bola Tinubu’s ongoing state visit to the United Kingdom.

Lambeth Palace, the official residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury, is one of the most significant centres of the Church of England.

Details of the visit show that the First Lady will also hold meetings with representatives of the Church during her stay in London.

President Tinubu and his wife arrived in the UK on Tuesday, touching down at Stansted Airport ahead of a packed schedule of high-level engagements.

The visit, Nigeria’s first state visit to the UK in nearly 40 years, is expected to focus on deepening bilateral ties between both countries.

As part of the programme, the Nigerian leader is scheduled to meet Charles III and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, alongside interactions with members of the Nigerian diaspora.

Mrs Tinubu’s participation adds a faith-based dimension to the trip. An ordained pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, she has remained active in religious and humanitarian engagements, particularly in the areas of women’s empowerment and social development.

Her scheduled sermon at Lambeth Palace is expected to highlight shared values and strengthen religious and cultural ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
