APC Presents Certificates of Return to New NWC Members
JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally presented Certificates of Return to newly elected members of its National Working Committee (NWC), marking the official completion of the leadership transition following its National Convention.
The presentation was held on Thursday at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, where the APC Central Coordination Committee, led by former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari, handed over the certificates to the newly elected officials.
The exercise formally signals the commencement of duties for the new executive team, which emerged after the party’s National Convention earlier in the year.
Speaking shortly after receiving his certificate, the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, described the convention that produced the current leadership as one of the most successful in the history of the party.
He commended the organising committee for what he termed a smooth, transparent and credible process, noting that it reflected growing internal discipline and democratic maturity within the party.
“I want to sincerely appreciate the committee for an excellent, elegant, transparent and one of the most successful conventions ever held in Nigeria,” he said.
Yilwatda expressed appreciation to party leaders and members across the country for entrusting the new leadership with responsibility, assuring that the NWC would work to strengthen unity and consolidate the gains of the party.
He pledged that the leadership would remain focused on inclusiveness, organisational strengthening and sustained engagement with stakeholders at all levels.
“As we assume this responsibility, we are fully committed to upholding the values, unity and strength of our great party. We will work diligently to consolidate existing gains and ensure continued progress,” he said.
The APC chairman also noted that the convention was largely peaceful and free from legal disputes, describing it as a sign of cohesion and political maturity within the party.
According to him, maintaining such standards will require continued cooperation and discipline from all party members and stakeholders.
He further thanked members nationwide for their loyalty and sacrifices, urging them to remain steadfast in promoting the ideals of the party.
“On behalf of the newly inaugurated National Working Committee, I reaffirm our commitment to inclusiveness, unity and progress. We will continue to engage, mobilise and strengthen the party at all levels,” he added.
Yilwatda also called on members to serve as ambassadors of the party in their respective communities, urging renewed dedication as the party prepares for future political engagements.

The presentation of Certificates of Return formally completes the transition process following the APC National Convention held on March 27–28, 2026, at Eagle Square, Abuja, where the new National Working Committee emerged by consensus.
