NYSC Announces April 22 Kick-Off for 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation
JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course, with activities set to commence nationwide on April 22.
In a statement signed by the Director, Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the scheme said the 21-day exercise will be held simultaneously across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the schedule, prospective corps members are expected to begin arrival, registration and documentation at their respective orientation camps on Wednesday, April 22, with the exercise closing at midnight on Friday, April 24.
The swearing-in ceremony for the new batch is slated for Friday, April 24, after which full camp activities will commence.
The orientation programme is expected to run for three weeks, ending on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
While wishing the incoming corps members safe journeys to their various camps, the NYSC management reiterated its long-standing advisory against night travel.
“Prospective Corps Members are advised to break their journeys once it is 6:00 p.m. and pass the night at any available Corps Members’ Lodge, military formation, police station or palace of a traditional ruler before continuing the next day,” the statement said.
The scheme emphasised that the directive is aimed at ensuring the safety of corps members as they travel across different parts of the country.
NYSC further urged all mobilised graduates to adhere strictly to the travel advisory and other guidelines, assuring that adequate arrangements have been put in place for a smooth and successful orientation exercise.
