Tolu Bankole Backs Senator Yayi As Ogun APC 2027 Consensus Governorship Candidate

A member of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Durotolu Oyebode Bankole, has thrown his weight behind the emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, as the party’s consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Ogun State.

Bankole, in a statement issued on Tuesday, described Adeola’s adoption as a reflection of his leadership qualities, experience, and commitment to the development of the state.

He said the senator, popularly known as Yayi, has demonstrated capacity through his service as a federal lawmaker and his professional background as a chartered accountant.

“Senator Adeola’s emergence as the party’s candidate is a testament to his proven leadership, vast experience, and unwavering commitment to the progress and development of Ogun State,” Bankole said.

He added that Adeola’s record of public service and representation places him in a strong position to build on existing developmental strides and take the state to greater heights.

According to him, the consensus candidacy enjoys broad support among party stakeholders, expressing confidence that the APC would secure victory in the 2027 governorship poll.

Bankole also commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for what he described as exemplary leadership, noting that the administration has fostered unity and stability within the party in the state.

“Under his watch, the APC in Ogun State has witnessed unprecedented peace, unity, and cohesion,” he said.

He further credited the governor with driving development through investments in key sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and youth empowerment.

The APC chieftain also praised party leaders, former governors, and stakeholders in Ogun State for adopting a consensus approach in selecting the candidate, describing it as a demonstration of political maturity and unity of purpose.

“This unity of purpose demonstrates the strength and maturity of our great party in Ogun State and sends a strong signal of our readiness for victory in 2027,” he noted.

He called on party members and supporters across the state to rally behind Adeola to ensure electoral success and continuity of governance under the APC.

Bankole also appreciated residents of Ogun State for their support for the ruling party, assuring them of continued delivery of democratic dividends.

“As we move forward, I urge all party members and supporters to rally solidly behind Senator Adeola to ensure a resounding victory that will further entrench the ideals of our party,” he said.
