EFCC Places City Boy Movement Leader on Wanted List Over Alleged Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared a women leader of the City Boy Movement wanted over allegations of obtaining money by false pretence.

In a notice issued on Monday, the anti-graft agency named Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, the south-west zonal coordinator of the women wing of the group, as a suspect in an ongoing fraud investigation.

The commission said the 41-year-old, an indigene of Lagos State, is being sought in connection with alleged financial crimes and urged members of the public to assist with information on her whereabouts.

Her last known address was given as House A26, Aso Grove Estate, Maitama Extension, Abuja.

“Anybody with useful information as to her whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Ibadan, Uyo, Sokoto, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt or Abuja offices… or the nearest police station and other security agencies,” the notice stated.

The EFCC said Tejuosho had earlier been under investigation over allegations linked to appointment and contract scams.

She was reportedly questioned by the commission in June 2025 following complaints that she collected money from individuals under the guise of securing federal government jobs and lucrative contracts.

Investigators alleged that the suspect used forged documents and fake appointment letters to convince victims of the claims.

Tejuosho was subsequently granted administrative bail at the time, with the agency indicating that investigations were ongoing.

The latest development suggests that the commission has escalated efforts to locate her as part of the probe.

Meanwhile, the City Boy Movement has announced the suspension of Tejuosho from her position within the group.

In a statement, the organisation said the decision takes immediate effect and is intended to protect its integrity pending the outcome of the investigation.

“This action has been taken as a necessary administrative measure to protect the image, credibility, and ethical standards of the Movement,” the statement said.

The group added that the suspension would allow investigations to proceed without interference, noting its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct.

The City Boy Movement, a youth-driven political advocacy group, has been active in promoting the policies and second-term bid of President Bola Tinubu under the Renewed Hope agenda.

The EFCC has reiterated its call on members of the public to provide information that could assist in tracking down the suspect.
