The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has opened its 2026 recruitment exercise, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for positions across four categories.
The commission’s recruitment portal lists November 1, 2026, as the closing date, giving prospective applicants a limited window to complete their applications.
The exercise covers Detective Superintendent, Detective Inspector, Detective Assistant, and professional or skilled-worker positions.
The categories accommodate applicants with university degrees, diplomas, secondary school certificates and relevant professional qualifications.
For the Detective Superintendent cadre, applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma from a recognised institution.
They must also present a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate and fall within the age range of 18 to 30 years.
The Detective Inspector category targets holders of a National Diploma or National Certificate in Education. Applicants must be between 18 and 27 years old.
The Detective Assistant cadre is open to candidates aged 18 to 25 who have at least five credit passes in WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB. The credits must include English Language and Mathematics and must not exceed two sittings.
The professional and skilled-worker category covers fields including medicine, pharmacy, law, nursing, medical laboratory science, engineering, information technology, human resources, finance and media.
Applicants in this category must meet the relevant qualification requirements and fall within the age range of 18 to 40 years. A valid national driver’s licence will give applicants seeking relevant positions an added advantage.
The commission requires applicants to be Nigerian citizens, medically fit and free of criminal records. Candidates must also possess basic computer skills and declare their academic and professional qualifications accurately.
Cadet applicants must be single. Male candidates must measure at least 1.67 metres tall, while female candidates must meet a minimum height of 1.64 metres. The recruitment portal also lists the absence of tattoos among its general requirements.
To apply, candidates must visit the official recruitment portal, create an account using their National Identification Number (NIN), email address and phone number, and verify their email addresses.
They must then complete the application form and upload the required documents, including their passport photographs, proof of age, certificate of origin and relevant academic credentials.
Applicants should carefully review their details before submitting their forms because the portal warns that submitted applications cannot be edited. It also prohibits multiple applications, while shortlisted candidates must print their application slips for screening.
The commission has stressed that the recruitment process is free. Applicants should therefore avoid individuals or groups demanding payment in exchange for application assistance or promises of employment.
Prospective candidates are advised to rely on the official EFCC recruitment portal for application requirements and updates, rather than unverified social media posts or third-party links.
Interested candidates should complete their applications through the official EFCC recruitment portal at [https://recruitment.efcc.gov.ng/](https://recruitment.efcc.gov.ng/) before the deadline and follow the instructions provided on the website.
