Businessman and social commentator Isaac Fayose has lost his wife after a battle with cancer, drawing an outpouring of sympathy from friends, followers and celebrities across social media.
Fayose, who is the younger brother of former Ayo Fayose, announced the death of his wife in a post shared on Instagram on Saturday.
The businessman posted a candlelight image accompanied by a brief emotional message.
“Rest In Peace, My darling wife,” he wrote.
In another post, he shared photographs of his late wife and bid her farewell with the words, “Odaro oyinbo mi.”
The news quickly sparked reactions online, with sympathisers flooding his social media pages with condolence messages and prayers for the family.
Among celebrities who reacted to the announcement were actress Yvonne Jegede, comedian Ali Baba and veteran singer Daddy Showkey, who expressed sadness over the loss.
The death came months after Fayose publicly disclosed that his wife had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing treatment in Australia.
In an emotional video shared on social media in March, he spoke about her worsening condition and the emotional toll the illness had taken on the family.
According to him, his wife had become too weak to carry out daily activities by the time he arrived in Australia to see her.
“My wife is not feeling well. When I got here, she was very weak. The same woman who usually picks me up at the airport couldn’t come, so I had to take an Uber,” he had said.
Fayose also recounted how their roles had reversed during the period of her illness, saying he found himself caring for her and supporting her through difficult moments.
“She used to cook for me, but now I find myself cooking for her. She couldn’t cook or talk. I sat beside her and sang her favourite song; she held my hand as I sang,” he said tearfully.
Since the announcement of her death, tributes have continued to pour in from supporters and associates, many describing the loss as heartbreaking.
The family has yet to announce funeral arrangements.
