A Nigerian diaspora coalition, The Future Platform, has praised the resilience of citizens at home and abroad, describing their sustained push for good governance and national progress as a driving force behind Nigeria’s democratic and developmental strides.
The group also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for what it described as visible improvements in infrastructure renewal, urban development, and service delivery in the nation’s capital.
In a statement jointly signed by its Convener, Sir Austine Dafe, and Secretary, Mr. Afolabi Adeusi, the organisation said Nigerians continue to demonstrate remarkable endurance and optimism despite prevailing economic and security challenges.
“Nigerians continue to exhibit extraordinary strength and determination,” the group said. “Their resilience remains a powerful force driving the nation toward greater accountability, sustainable development, and a brighter future for all.”
According to the organisation, the collective commitment of citizens to demand accountability and better governance reflects a deep-rooted belief in Nigeria’s potential for transformation.
The Future Platform further noted that ongoing developments in the FCT under Wike align with the objectives of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in infrastructure delivery and improved public services.
It described the minister’s approach as energetic and results-oriented, insisting that visible progress in road networks, urban renewal projects and administrative efficiency had not gone unnoticed within the diaspora community.
“We applaud the FCT Minister’s energy, vision, and commitment to delivering tangible results,” the statement added. “His support for the administration’s development agenda reflects the kind of purposeful leadership Nigerians are calling for—leadership that prioritises performance and national progress.”
Beyond commendation, the group also announced plans to host its Renewed Hope Mega Rally in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, in August 2026.
The event is expected to attract Nigerian professionals, youth groups, community leaders and stakeholders across North America, with a focus on strengthening civic engagement and diaspora participation in national development.
The organisation said the rally would provide a platform to promote unity, showcase diaspora contributions, and encourage constructive participation in Nigeria’s democratic process.
“The Renewed Hope Mega Rally will demonstrate the continued commitment of Nigerians abroad to the progress of their homeland,” the group stated. “It will also create opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and support for initiatives aimed at building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.”
The Future Platform reaffirmed its commitment to supporting national development through expertise sharing, investment facilitation and strategic partnerships, stressing that Nigeria’s progress requires collaboration between citizens at home and abroad.
It also urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and united in advancing good governance, sustainable development and inclusive economic growth.
