The Nigerian diaspora community in the United States is set to converge in Atlanta, Georgia, for the Renewed Hope Mega Rally aimed at deepening civic engagement and strengthening support for national development initiatives under Nigeria’s current reform agenda.

The event, scheduled for Friday, August 7, 2026, will hold at the Marriott Hotel, Atlanta, and is being organised by The Future Platform, a coalition of Nigerian diaspora professionals, entrepreneurs, community leaders and development advocates.

Organisers said the rally is expected to attract participants from across the United States and other parts of the world, with a focus on promoting dialogue around Nigeria’s socio-economic reforms and governance direction.

According to them, the gathering will provide a platform to highlight policy achievements, ongoing reforms and developmental milestones recorded under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, particularly in the areas of economic growth, infrastructure development and governance reforms.

The event will also feature discussions on national cohesion, investment opportunities and strategies to strengthen collaboration between Nigerians at home and abroad.

Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Executive Director of Operations of The Future Platform, Hon. Lincoln Ibie, said the rally reflects the commitment of Nigerians in the diaspora to remain actively involved in nation-building efforts.

He said the diaspora community remains a critical partner in Nigeria’s development journey, noting that the event would foster constructive engagement and strategic collaboration.

“The Nigerian diaspora remains a vital partner in nation-building. This rally will foster constructive engagement, strengthen partnerships, and provide a platform for exchanging ideas that support sustainable development, economic growth, and national prosperity,” Ibie said.

He added that the event would create opportunities for networking among policymakers, investors, professionals, youth groups and other stakeholders committed to Nigeria’s long-term development.

Organisers said the programme will include keynote addresses, policy discussions, cultural performances and interactive sessions focusing on investment, governance, youth empowerment and diaspora contributions to national growth.

The Future Platform expressed confidence that the rally would strengthen ties between Nigerians in the diaspora and those at home while promoting unity, patriotism and shared responsibility for national progress.

Prominent political leaders, government officials, business executives, traditional rulers and members of the diplomatic community are expected to attend the event, which organisers described as one of the most significant Nigerian diaspora engagements of 2026.
