The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a six-hour power disruption in parts of Akwa Ibom State following scheduled maintenance on the Uyo-Itu 132kV transmission line.
The maintenance exercise, according to a statement signed by TCN Management on Saturday, October 31, 2026, is scheduled to take place between 10am and 4pm.
The exercise is expected to affect electricity supply to customers in Eket, Ikot Abasi, Etinan, Ikot Ekpene, Onna and Uyo Complex.
TCN explained that the maintenance would prevent the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) from receiving electricity for onward distribution to customers in the affected communities during the period.
The company said its maintenance crew would carry out the scheduled work on the transmission line as part of efforts to maintain the facility.
TCN apologised to electricity consumers in the affected areas for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption.
The notice did not indicate whether electricity supply would be restored immediately after the maintenance exercise.
