APC Names Uzodimma to Lead National Convention’s 73-Member Committee

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Imo State Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, as Chairman of the 73-member Central Coordination Committee for the party’s 2026 National Convention.
The convention, scheduled for late March 2026 in Abuja, will bring together party leaders to elect new members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC). The formation of the committee is a key step in ensuring smooth planning and coordination of the national event.
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), will serve as Vice Chairman, while Yobe State Governor, H.E. Mai Mala Buni, has been named Secretary of the committee.
The committee includes all 29 APC governors and former national chairmen, including Chief Bisi Akande, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Other prominent party members include Senator Ken Nnamani, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
Key former legislators, including Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara and Rt. Hon. Patricia Etteh, are also members of the committee.
According to APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, the committee reflects the party’s commitment to inclusivity and broad representation of stakeholders from across Nigeria. He added that details of the formal inauguration will be announced in due course.
