APC PWDs Community in UK Welcomes Tinubu on State Visit

The APC UK Persons with Disabilities & Mental Health (APCUK PWDMH) has welcomed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu to the United Kingdom on the occasion of their state visit.
In a statement issued on Tuesday and jointly signed by its leader, Prince Ayorinde Amoko, and deputy leader, Funmi Adesanya, the group described the visit as historic and significant for Nigeria’s diplomatic relations.
President Tinubu and the First Lady are in the UK for a state visit scheduled from March 18 to 19, 2026, hosted at Windsor Castle by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
The group noted that the visit represents “a defining moment in strengthening the enduring diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.”
“It also reflects the growing recognition of Nigeria’s strategic role in global affairs and the continued commitment of your administration to international partnership, national development, and inclusive governance,” the statement said.
APCUK PWDMH, which represents persons with disabilities and mental health communities within the APC in the diaspora, said it was encouraged by the administration’s focus on inclusivity and social justice.
“As representatives of Persons with Disabilities and Mental Health communities, we are particularly encouraged by the renewed focus on inclusivity, social justice, and empowerment under your leadership,” the group stated.
The association added that the president’s vision for a more equitable Nigeria resonates with millions of Nigerians, especially those facing challenges related to disability and mental health.
According to the group, the visit also provides an opportunity to deepen bilateral cooperation in key sectors.
“This State Visit not only strengthens diplomatic relations but also symbolises hope for deeper cooperation in areas such as healthcare, disability inclusion, economic empowerment, education, and social protection for vulnerable populations,” it noted.
The group further expressed optimism that enhanced collaboration between both countries would help build systems that protect the rights, dignity, and opportunities of all citizens.
“On behalf of our community, we celebrate your leadership, courage, and commitment to building a Nigeria where no one is left behind,” the statement added.
It wished the president and the First Lady a successful visit, expressing hope that the engagement would open new opportunities for partnership and national development.
