Ex-PDP Spokesman Metuh Joins Tinubu Campaign Team

Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, has been appointed into a key directorate of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA), a political mobilisation platform backing the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The announcement was made on Friday by the Director-General and National Coordinator of the group, Hope Uzodimma, who unveiled a list of directors expected to drive the initiative’s nationwide outreach.

RHA, conceived as a strategic campaign vehicle ahead of the 2027 general elections, is designed to communicate the policies and achievements of the Tinubu administration to grassroots communities across the country.

In a statement issued by the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Tunde Rahman, the initiative was described as central to promoting the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the statement, the structure of the organisation reflects a broad national spread, with six zonal coordinators, 37 state coordinators, and 774 local government coordinators already in place.

Metuh, who once served as a prominent spokesperson for the PDP, has now been assigned the role of Director of Organisation and Mobilisation, a position considered critical to building political support and coordinating campaign efforts across different regions.

Other notable figures named in the campaign structure include Uba Sani as Deputy Director-General, Muhammed Inuwa Yahaya as Secretary, and James Abiodun Faleke as Deputy Secretary.

The directorate also features a mix of political office holders and technocrats overseeing various departments such as media, digital strategy, finance, legal affairs, research, and diaspora engagement.

Among them are Sunday Dare handling digital and new media, Muiz Banire in charge of monitoring and legal compliance, and Abike Dabiri-Erewa overseeing diaspora affairs.

Metuh’s inclusion in the pro-Tinubu campaign structure marks a notable political shift, given his previous high-profile role within the opposition PDP.

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors is expected to intensify mobilisation activities in the coming months as political alignments gradually take shape ahead of the next election cycle.
