Adamawa Governorship aspirant and legal scholar, Mustafa Saliu, addressing journalists on Thursday

Governorship aspirant and legal scholar, Mustafa Saliu, has intensified consultations and mobilisation efforts ahead of the All Progressives Congress governorship primary in Adamawa State, expressing confidence in securing the party’s ticket.

Speaking during an interview with journalists, Saliu said his ambition was driven by a desire to build on ongoing development efforts in the state while promoting unity and inclusive governance.

The APC aspirant stated that politics requires preparation, strategy and patience, noting that his growing support base across the state had strengthened his optimism ahead of the primary election.

“The political process is unpredictable, but I believe preparation creates opportunity. I am prepared for the task ahead, and I trust the people of Adamawa State will support this vision,” he said.

Saliu disclosed that his political structure was prepared for any mode of primary election the party might adopt, including direct primaries or consensus arrangement.

According to him, his supporters remain united and focused on ensuring victory at the party’s primary.

“We are comfortable with any method adopted by the party. Our team is ready,” he added.

The governorship hopeful commended the current administration for initiating infrastructure and development projects across the state, stressing that continuity was necessary for long-term projects to achieve meaningful impact.

He pledged that if elected governor, his administration would focus on accelerating development while ensuring fairness and inclusiveness across all sections of the state.

Using the slogan “Kowanamu,” Saliu said his vision was to promote a government that accommodates all ethnic and religious groups in Adamawa.

“We must see ourselves as one people. Unity is essential for progress, and without it, development becomes slow,” he stated.

The aspirant also dismissed concerns over the growing influence of rival contenders in the APC governorship race, insisting that his camp remained focused and undistracted.

“Political strategies are not discussed publicly, but we are not intimidated by any opponent,” he said.

Political activities have continued to intensify in Adamawa ahead of the APC governorship primary, with aspirants ramping up consultations and grassroots mobilisation across the state.
