Territory Police Command has begun investigation into the disappearance of a female National Youth Service Corps member, Linda Eunice Ameh, who was last seen on Wednesday evening after leaving her workplace in Abuja.
Ameh, a lawyer currently serving in the Federal Capital Territory, reportedly disappeared shortly after closing from work at a private firm located in the Maitama area of the city.
The missing corps member had recently secured employment as a sales manager with Blades and Butchers Ltd., a livestock and agro-products company situated on Lake Chad Crescent, Maitama.
She was said to have resumed at the company about two weeks before her disappearance and was residing at a corpers’ lodge in the Life Camp area of Abuja.
Confirming the development on Friday, spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, said the matter was reported to the police by one of Ameh’s colleagues.
“On the 7th of May, 2026, at approximately 6:30 PM, one Mr Zachariah reported at Maitama Police Division, Abuja, that a staff member of his organisation, Ms Linda Ameh, left the office premises for home on the 6th of May, 2026, at about 5:40 PM and has not been seen since,” Adeh stated.
She disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, had directed a detailed investigation into the matter immediately the report was received.
According to the police, efforts are ongoing to trace the whereabouts of the missing corps member.
The command also appealed to members of the public with useful information that could assist investigators or help locate Ameh to report to the nearest police station or contact the FCT Police Command.
Meanwhile, the management of the National Youth Service Corps had yet to issue an official statement on the incident as of Friday.
