

The Federal High Court has announced the death of Justice Mohammed N. Yunusa, a serving judge of the court’s Kano Judicial Division.
Justice Yunusa passed away on Thursday after a brief illness at the Kano State Medical Centre.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja by the Director of Information of the Federal High Court, Catherine-Oby Christopher.
According to the statement, the late judge has since been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
The court described Justice Yunusa as a diligent and committed jurist who served the judiciary with integrity and a strong sense of duty.
“Justice M. N. Yunusa was a distinguished jurist who served with dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the administration of justice,” the statement read.
It added that his contributions to the Bench and the legal profession would be remembered by his colleagues, members of the Bar, court officials and others who worked with him during his years of service.
The Federal High Court also extended condolences to the family of the deceased, describing his passing as a painful and irreparable loss to the judiciary.
“The Chief Judge, judges, management, and staff of the Federal High Court extend their heartfelt condolences to his immediate family,” the statement added, praying for strength for the bereaved family.
The court further prayed for the repose of his soul, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
Justice Yunusa was widely regarded within judicial circles as a calm and professional judge who contributed significantly to the administration of justice in Nigeria.
