In a move to deepen Nigeria’s digital transformation drive, the Galaxy Backbone Limited has partnered with Simba Infrastructure Limited to launch hosted Unified Communication and call centre services targeted at both public and private sector organisations.
The collaboration is aimed at improving how institutions manage communication, customer engagement and internal coordination through secure, locally hosted digital platforms.
The initiative was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the Head of Corporate Communications at Galaxy Backbone, Chidi Okpala.
Under the arrangement, Simba Infrastructure will drive private sector deployment of tailored communication solutions, while Galaxy Backbone will focus on adoption within ministries, departments and agencies as well as other government institutions.
Both organisations said the partnership combines Simba’s expertise in customer experience technology, systems integration and enterprise communications with Galaxy Backbone’s national ICT backbone infrastructure and secure data hosting capacity.
Galaxy Backbone operates Tier III and Tier IV data centres and maintains a fibre-optic network that spans multiple states and the Federal Capital Territory, providing secure connectivity and cloud services for public institutions.
Simba Infrastructure, a subsidiary of the Simba Group, specialises in unified communications, contact centre solutions and digital transformation tools designed for enterprise clients across sectors.
The partners said the new services are designed to provide secure, scalable and cost-effective communication infrastructure, reducing reliance on fragmented systems while improving efficiency in both government and corporate environments.
Industry observers say the development reflects a growing shift toward locally hosted cloud and communication systems in Nigeria, driven by concerns around data sovereignty, cybersecurity and service reliability.
Director at Simba Infrastructure, Sanjay Vaswani, said the partnership represents a long-term commitment to building locally driven digital solutions.
“Simba is pleased to mark this first phase of collaboration, with a long-term vision of deploying fully localized, AI-driven technologies that enable developers to build and scale using Naira-based solutions,” he said.
Profit Centre Head at Simba Infrastructure, Aminu Usman, described the partnership as a milestone in advancing cloud-based communication services in Nigeria.
He said the collaboration would accelerate digital transformation by combining infrastructure strength with customer-focused innovation.
General Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Regional Business at Galaxy Backbone, Abdul-Malik Suleiman, said the initiative aligns with efforts to expand secure and inclusive digital services across the country.
He said Galaxy Backbone remains committed to providing reliable ICT infrastructure that supports both government and private sector operations.
The partners added that the launch will enhance organisational efficiency, improve customer experience and strengthen digital service delivery nationwide.
They also noted that the initiative supports Nigeria’s broader digital economy agenda by promoting local data hosting, improving cybersecurity resilience and expanding access to modern communication tools.
