The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has approved July 9, 2026, as the official passing-out date for members of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I who have successfully completed their national service year.
The scheme disclosed that activities leading to the passing-out exercise commenced on June 23 and would include job advisory and counselling sessions, registration and clearance of corps members, as well as the endorsement of final clearance documents by relevant NYSC officials.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the winding-up programme is designed to prepare corps members for life after service while ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements before the issuance of certificates.
The statement noted that the Job Advisory and Counselling (JAC) programme would be conducted in collaboration with relevant agencies to equip corps members with skills, career guidance and entrepreneurship opportunities aimed at easing their transition into the labour market.
It added that Local Government Inspectors (LGIs) would oversee the registration and clearance process, while Zonal Inspectors would conclude the exercise with the signing of final clearance documents.
The NYSC said the passing-out ceremony would be conducted on a low-key basis across the country, with Certificates of National Service to be presented only to corps members who successfully fulfilled all requirements of the scheme.
Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, congratulated the outgoing corps members and wished them a successful completion of the service year.
He also urged them to uphold the ideals and values of the scheme as they move into the next phase of their lives.
“The Director-General wishes the Corps Members a successful winding-up and passing-out exercise,” the statement said.
Nafiu further encouraged the outgoing participants to remain worthy ambassadors of the NYSC by demonstrating patriotism, discipline, integrity and commitment to national development in their future endeavours.
The NYSC programme, established to promote national unity and integration, has over the years deployed graduates to various sectors of the economy, including education, healthcare, agriculture and public service.
