Customs Fixes Physical Screening For Successful Recruitment Candidates

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has scheduled the physical screening and documentation exercise for candidates shortlisted for its latest recruitment into the Service.

The exercise will be held at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, Abuja, according to a statement signed on Tuesday by the Deputy Comptroller of Customs and National Public Relations Officer for the Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada.

The Service directed all successful candidates to appear on the date allocated to their respective states and cadres, stressing that attendance is compulsory.

Candidates are required to come with the original and photocopies of their National Identification Number (NIN), birth certificate or declaration of age, as well as relevant educational certificates, including O’Level, National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND) and degree certificates, where applicable.

Other documents required for the exercise are a certificate of state of origin, two recent passport photographs, a completed guarantor’s form and NYSC certificate, where applicable.

The NCS also directed candidates to appear in a white T-shirt, shorts and canvas shoes for the physical screening.

It warned that candidates who fail to report on their designated dates may be disqualified from the recruitment exercise.

The Service said the screening and documentation exercise would precede further stages of the recruitment process, with successful candidates to receive additional instructions after completing the exercise.

The NCS, under the leadership of Comptroller-General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, assured candidates and the public that the recruitment process would remain transparent, fair and merit-based.

It also urged applicants to be cautious of false information and rely only on official NCS communication channels for updates concerning the exercise.

The latest recruitment exercise is part of efforts by the Service to strengthen its workforce as it continues to expand its responsibilities in revenue collection, trade facilitation and border security.
