Troops Arrest Woman With 300 Rounds of Ammunition in Kaduna

A 50-year-old woman suspected of supplying ammunition to terrorists has been arrested by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Kaduna State.

The troops arrested the suspect on Wednesday, September 9, during an operation in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.

According to counter-insurgency publication Zagazola Makama, the woman had 300 rounds of ammunition concealed in a bag when troops apprehended her.

Preliminary findings indicate that she travelled from Zamfara State to Lafia, Nasarawa State, where she allegedly collected the ammunition.

She was reportedly taking the consignment to terrorist elements operating around Birnin Gwari in Kaduna State.

The military has taken the suspect and recovered ammunition into custody as investigations continue.

Investigators are expected to establish the wider network behind the alleged movement of the ammunition and identify its intended recipients.

In a separate operation, troops arrested a suspected terrorist kingpin and two members of his group in Kubau Local Government Area.

The arrests followed a clearance operation at Dabar Dabo, which the military identified as a suspected terrorist hideout.

Troops, working alongside a community vigilante group, also apprehended another suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Birnin Gwari.

The operation led to the recovery of four communication devices allegedly linked to terrorist activities.

The latest arrests form part of sustained military operations aimed at disrupting terrorist networks across the North-West.

The troops are also targeting the supply routes used to move arms, ammunition and other logistics to terror groups.
