NiMet DG Anosike Bags BusinessDay Public Service Excellence Award 2025

JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof. Charles Anosike, has been honoured with the BusinessDay Public Service Excellence Award 2025, presented on 3rd December 2025 during the BusinessDay Public Lecture Series and Excellence Awards.

Now in its seventh edition, the award recognises outstanding public sector leaders who strengthen governance, boost institutional efficiency, and promote data-driven decision-making across the country.

Prof. Anosike was celebrated for his reform-driven leadership, which has enhanced operational efficiency, climate resilience, and evidence-based service delivery at NiMet; positioning the agency as a model for modern public sector performance.

According to the Awards Committee, Prof. Anosike’s recognition in the Excellence in Public Service category reflects his unwavering commitment, strategic vision, and transformative impact on Nigeria’s meteorological and climate services landscape.

Others honoured at the ceremony included the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, alongside several other distinguished public leaders.
