
Global Leadership: Austin Akpehe Appointed as NYCN Diaspora Ambassador of China

A new era of diplomatic and economic engagement for Nigerian youth has begun with the official appointment of Hon. Austin Akpehe as the Ambassador of China for the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Diaspora.
The appointment, effective February 24th, 2026, was confirmed by the Office of the President of the NYCN Diaspora following a comprehensive review of Akpehe’s extensive contributions to the Nigerian community. The formal letter of appointment was presented by Ambassador Collins Osazee Idahosa, President of NYCN Diaspora.

In his capacity as Ambassador, Hon. Akpehe is tasked with representing and advocating for the interests of Nigerian youth within China. His mandate focuses on several key strategic pillars:
Strategic Collaboration: Partnering with domestic and international agencies to advance the Council’s core objectives.

Youth Empowerment and Development: Creating initiatives that foster professional growth and leadership opportunities for young Nigerians in Asia.
Regional Cooperation: Strengthening bilateral bonds and promoting the “Build The Youth! Build The Nation!” philosophy on the global stage.
A Distinguished Career in Trade and Sports
Ambassador Akpehe is a seasoned technocrat with a robust academic and professional background, an ex footballer with a B.Sc. in Corporative Management and a UEFA B coaching license. He’s the Executive Chairman and CEO of Hunan Galaxy Global Trade Development and XT Galaxy Sports Development China, he has built a reputation for bridging economic gaps between China, Europe, and Africa.

His leadership portfolio is vast, encompassing several high-level roles:
Economic Diplomacy: Serving as the official representative of the Nigeria Permanent Pavilion at the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Demonstration Park in Hunan.
Global Trade Leadership: Acting as CEO of Changsha Changta Business Service Co-operation and International Market Development Consultant for the Huangjing Industry.
Sports Advocacy: Serving as the official representative of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and the Nigeria National League (NNL) in China, where he secures sponsorship and partnership deals for African football.
