The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has charged its officers and men to uphold integrity, discipline and ethical conduct in the discharge of their duties as part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening professionalism and public trust in the organisation.

The directive followed a nationwide engagement with personnel across various formations of the Corps ordered by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed.

The initiative, which took place across commands on March 3, 2026, forms part of efforts to sanitise the operational culture of the Corps and reinforce professionalism, productivity and ethical service delivery.

According to a statement issued by the Assistant Corps Marshal and Corps Public Education Officer, Olusegun Ogungbemide, the engagement aligns with the reform agenda of the current leadership of the Corps and the broader governance vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The statement said members of the Corps Management were deployed to commands nationwide to deliver a clear message to personnel that mediocrity would no longer be tolerated within the organisation.

During the engagements, officers and men were urged to recommit themselves to the highest standards of discipline, operational excellence and integrity while maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to corruption in the discharge of their responsibilities.

“The leadership of the Corps stressed that strengthening professionalism among personnel is critical to restoring public confidence and improving service delivery,” the statement disclosed.

It further reminded officers that the mandate of the FRSC goes beyond enforcement to include protecting lives, promoting responsible road use and serving the Nigerian public with honour, transparency and accountability.

The statement noted that under the leadership of Mohammed, the Corps has intensified efforts toward institutional renewal, with renewed emphasis on ethical conduct, operational efficiency and professionalism.

“The nationwide engagement represents a significant step toward entrenching a culture where integrity is non-negotiable and every officer remains committed to the organisation’s core mandate of saving lives on Nigerian roads,” Ogungbemide stated.

The Corps management reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the reform process and assured the motoring public that the organisation would continue to strengthen its operations to ensure safer roads and improved service delivery across the country.
