Eid-el-Fitr: APC Urges Nigerians to Pray for Peace, Unity
JOEL OLADELE, Abuja

The All Progressives Congress has called on Nigerians to continue praying for peace, unity and national progress as Muslims across the country mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
In a statement issued on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the ruling party congratulated Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
The party described Eid-el-Fitr as a significant Islamic festival that symbolizes gratitude to Allah for the strength to observe the month-long fasting, spiritual reflection and devotion.
According to the APC, the celebration represents a period of spiritual renewal and an opportunity to strengthen bonds within families and communities through acts of charity, prayers and peaceful coexistence.
It, however, urged citizens not to lose sight of the core lessons of Ramadan.
“As we celebrate, we urge Nigerians to sustain their prayers for peace, unity and progress of our dear nation, while upholding the virtuous essence of Ramadan, including penitence, sacrifice and obedience,” the statement read.
The party also encouraged Nigerians to extend kindness to the less privileged, noting that the festive period should serve as a reminder of the need to support the vulnerable in society.
It expressed hope that the prayers and sacrifices offered during the holy month would translate into greater harmony and stability across the country.
The APC further wished Nigerians a peaceful Eid celebration, calling for continued collective efforts towards achieving enduring progress and shared prosperity.
