Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has revealed plans to remarry, describing her forthcoming union as her “first official” marriage despite having been in two previous relationships.

The actress made the disclosure during a recent interview, where she confirmed that preparations for the ceremony are already underway. She, however, declined to reveal the identity of her fiancé or the date for the wedding.

“I will soon be getting married, officially, for the first time ever,” she said, sparking fresh conversations around her personal life.

The announcement follows earlier speculation in November 2023 when a video shared by Bakare appeared to show her being proposed to. The clip drew widespread congratulatory messages from fans and colleagues who believed she was set to tie the knot.

She later clarified that the video was part of a movie scene from Oko Laide and not a real-life engagement, noting that the man featured was her co-star.

Bakare’s marital history includes a previous union with Olumide Okunfulure, a United States-based businessman from Ondo State, with whom she has a daughter. The marriage eventually ended.

She later married Mutairu Orilowo, and the relationship produced two sons before it also broke down under circumstances that were not publicly detailed.

The actress, who began her career in 1999 with the film Adeyemi, has remained a notable figure in Nigeria’s film industry, featuring in numerous productions over the years.
