Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, on his re-election, describing the outcome as a strong affirmation of purposeful leadership, good governance and public confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Governor Ododo said the result of the election reflects the satisfaction of the people of Ekiti State with the performance of Governor Oyebanji, noting that voters deliberately chose continuity and stability over uncertainty.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, the Kogi State Governor said Oyebanji’s victory was a reflection of the trust reposed in his administration’s people-centred policies and development-driven governance style.
Ododo commended Oyebanji for what he described as prudent management of resources, infrastructural expansion, inclusive governance and sustained delivery of democratic dividends across key sectors of the state economy.
According to him, the outcome of the election also demonstrates that Nigerians are increasingly rewarding performance and rejecting governance based on rhetoric rather than results.
He linked the electoral victory in Ekiti to broader national confidence in the APC, pointing to what he described as the “transformational leadership” of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level and its ripple effect across states governed by the party.
Governor Ododo said the synergy between federal and state leadership under the APC has continued to strengthen public trust in the party as a platform for development and institutional progress.
“The people of Ekiti State have spoken loudly through the ballot. They have rewarded performance, vision and commitment to service,” Ododo said. “Governor Oyebanji is doing well in Ekiti State, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is providing purposeful leadership for Nigeria, and the people have once again demonstrated that they know the party they can trust.”
He added that the re-election was not only a personal victory for Oyebanji but also a broader endorsement of progressive governance and accountable leadership under the APC.
“This victory is not only a triumph for Governor Oyebanji and the APC in Ekiti State, but also a strong affirmation of the confidence Nigerians continue to place in progressive governance and responsible leadership,” he stated.
Governor Ododo expressed optimism that Oyebanji’s second term would deepen achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and economic development, ultimately improving the welfare of citizens.
He also assured the Ekiti Governor of continued cooperation and cordial relations between the governments and people of Kogi and Ekiti States, while wishing him success in his renewed mandate.
