The All Progressives Congress (APC) has scheduled October 24, 2026, for the launch of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in Kaduna State, with plans to take its campaign to all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, announced the date in a statement urging party leaders, members, coordinators and support groups to begin mobilisation for the event.

Yari said the Kaduna rally would mark the start of a nationwide campaign to secure another four-year term for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

“Once we leave Kaduna, we will not rest until we have been to all 36 states and the FCT,” he said.

He urged state chapters and support groups to work with the campaign council’s secretariat to ensure a large turnout. He also stressed the need for a peaceful event.

Yari defended the administration’s reform agenda, arguing that the government needed more time to complete its policies and allow Nigerians to benefit from them.

“The President took tough decisions that many before him avoided, and Nigerians have carried part of that burden with him. We owe it to them to make sure the reforms are completed and they see the full benefit. That is why we are asking for four more years,” he said.

The campaign director-general called on party members, political leaders and young Nigerians who support the administration to attend the Kaduna event with their supporters.

“When Nigerians see the crowd in Kaduna that day, they should know this party is ready for the work ahead,” he said.

He added that the party would pursue its re-election campaign through grassroots mobilisation, including engagement with voters in wards and polling units.

“We will achieve victory by working in every ward and polling unit, through people who knock on doors and explain to their neighbours why this government deserves more time. Kaduna is where that work begins for us,” Yari said.

The announcement follows President Tinubu’s approval of the proposed campaign timetable and state visits, which Yari discussed with him at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on October 9.

The council is scheduled to hold its inaugural meeting on October 14 at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja, ahead of the Kaduna flag-off. Yari said the detailed itinerary would be released after the council’s inauguration.

President Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima are to lead the council as chairman and vice-chairman, respectively. The State House announced the council’s composition on August 22, 2026, naming Yari as director-general and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as secretary.

The APC previously established a presidential campaign council in September 2022 to prosecute Tinubu’s campaign for the 2023 election. That council was dissolved in April 2023 after the election.
