The Inspector-General of Police(IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has charged officers of the Nigeria Police Force to apply the knowledge and specialised skills acquired during an international security training programme in Egypt to improve operational effectiveness and public safety.
Disu gave the charge on Friday when he received a delegation of officers who completed a two-month International Security Training Course at the Police Academy Research Center in Cairo, Egypt.
The delegation, led by CSP Bukola Adedayo-Olajuyigbe, visited the Force Headquarters in Abuja, where the police chief congratulated the officers on completing the programme.
He commended their performance, discipline and professionalism throughout the training, urging them to translate the experience gained into improved policing practices.
The IGP also tasked the officers with deploying their newly acquired skills to strengthen internal security and enhance the protection of lives and property.
He emphasised the need for them to maintain high professional standards and ensure that the training contributed to more effective service delivery.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday.
According to the statement, the Nigeria Police Force remains committed to building the capacity of its personnel through strategic training and international cooperation.
The initiative, it added, forms part of efforts to improve policing standards and strengthen the force’s ability to protect lives and property.
