Kehinde Adegbodu Recounts Twin Brother’s Final Moments

The sudden death of gospel singer Taiwo Adegbodu has taken a more emotional turn, as his twin brother, Kehinde Adegbodu, shared a detailed account of the late singer’s final moments.

Taiwo, who formed the popular gospel duo Adegbodu Twins with Kehinde, reportedly died after complaining of chest pain late at night, a development that has left fans and the Christian music community in shock.

Recounting the incident, Kehinde said his brother came to him around 11 p.m., saying he was not feeling well.

According to him, Taiwo complained of chest pain, prompting them to head to the hospital immediately. Despite concerns from his wife, Kehinde said his brother reassured her before they left.

“He told his wife there was no need to follow us because we would return very soon,” he said.

Kehinde added that the situation did not initially appear serious, as they both engaged in light conversation on their way to the hospital.

He further recalled how Taiwo spoke confidently about returning home shortly.

“He even told the estate security not to close the gate because we would not take long,” Kehinde said.

On arrival at the hospital, Taiwo reportedly walked in on his own and sat at the reception while Kehinde parked the car.

“He told the doctor he was feeling a pain in his chest, and the doctor asked the nurses to bring equipment so they could examine him,” he said.

However, moments later, the situation took a tragic turn.

Kehinde said Taiwo leaned back on the chair as though he had fallen asleep, prompting him to briefly step aside to take a phone call.

“I thought he had slept off, so I went to make a call,” he said.

He added that while he was still on the call, the doctor suddenly raised alarm.

“The doctor started shouting ‘Mr Taiye, Mr Taiye’ and hitting his chest. That was when we realised he had passed away,” Kehinde recounted.

The late Taiwo Adegbodu, alongside his brother, had built a strong reputation in Nigeria’s gospel music scene, ministering at churches, concerts and Christian events across the country.

Their music and energetic performances earned them a loyal following, making them a notable name in gospel circles.

His sudden passing has continued to draw tributes from fans and colleagues, many of whom described his death as a painful and unexpected loss to the gospel music community.
