Iran Vows to Kill Netanyahu as Middle East Conflict Escalates

Iran’s powerful paramilitary force, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has threatened to assassinate Benjamin Netanyahu amid intensifying hostilities between Iran and Israel.
In a statement published on Sepah News, a website linked to the IRGC, the group vowed to pursue the Israeli leader relentlessly.
“If this child-killing criminal is alive, we will continue to pursue and kill him with full force,” the statement read.
The threat surfaced after rumours circulated widely on social media over the weekend claiming that Netanyahu had been killed. The claims were swiftly dismissed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and other Israeli authorities, who insisted the prime minister was safe.
The latest development comes against the backdrop of an escalating confrontation that began after Israel and the United States launched coordinated airstrikes across Iran on February 28, 2026.
The strikes reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, along with several senior Iranian officials.
In retaliation, Iran launched waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli territory as well as United States military bases and allied facilities across the Middle East, triggering an ongoing military standoff in the region.
Both sides have reported casualties as the conflict continues to intensify, with global markets also feeling the impact as oil prices surge amid fears of prolonged instability in the oil-rich region.
According to Israel’s Health Ministry, at least 108 people were taken to hospitals in the past 24 hours as a result of the hostilities.
The ministry said two of the injured were in moderate condition, while 96 were treated for minor injuries. Nine others received medical attention for anxiety-related symptoms.
It added that since the start of the conflict on February 28, a total of 3,195 people; including civilians and soldiers have been admitted to hospitals, with 81 currently receiving treatment.
Among those hospitalised, one person was listed in critical condition, nine in serious condition, ten in moderate condition and 60 in stable condition.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump said Iran had indicated willingness to negotiate with Washington but that the United States was not ready to accept the current terms.
In a telephone interview with NBC News on Saturday, Trump said the proposals put forward by Tehran were “not good enough yet.” He also raised uncertainty over whether Iran’s new supreme leader was still alive and suggested it remained unclear if Iranian forces had deployed mines in the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Within Iran, authorities have reportedly arrested 20 individuals accused of collaborating with Israel.
According to the Tasnim News Agency, the suspects were detained in West Azerbaijan province for allegedly supplying Israel with intelligence on Iranian military and security facilities.
Sources familiar with Israel’s military operations also indicated that Israeli forces have entered a new phase of their offensive, targeting security checkpoints and strategic locations based on intelligence reportedly provided by informants inside Iran.
